2006 news from front page

25th June

Race diary updated here with all the previous stuff but new events for July at Farmborough (10K), for entry click here and in August a 5 miler at Broughton Gifford near Melksham (entry here). Just in are some race events based in Calne in Wiltshire. A duathlon in October and aquathlons in August through to December. Hogweeds have been at the races in June. Well done to 30 Hogweeds who made up three teams in the Cotswold way relays. Claire Seward was 1st o40 at Burnham Triathlon, where Anthony Febry's Tr-bars fell off. he returned to pick them up and Claire, the traveling home with Claire they had a puncture in the car. For some sad reason Claire had taken the jack out of the boot so it didn't scratch the bikes.. That one will raise it's head at the Hogweed awards! Mandy Spedding picked up 2nd o/40 at Wantage Triathlon. Meanwhile their were good races for a host of Hoggies at Castle Combe ( including a pb from Chris Martin, and debut from "Lord" Wilkie. Paul Chappell was in action at Marlborough. Wasn't it nice to have a sunny dry June after that horrible wet May?

It has been a long time since the last update. Studying and business and kept me away from the computer but Hogweeds have been racking up the races during May and June. Ron White and Claire Seward have been picking up awards in their respective categories and Castle Come Duathlons have seen some good Hogweed turnouts.

The end of May was a sad time with Triathlon losing one it's great local characters. Simon Harwood "Geordie" sadly passed away while on a cycling tour with his partner Fay. more here
