flat but very hot (no Andy Brooks from Sunny Saltford drifted off to the south of France for the Long distance race once won by Mark Allen 10 times in a row. Finishing in an overall time of 2.49.56 Bristol Half Marathon 22/9/02 Lovely day for it. I did the first three miles with Martin Rogers, race organiser of Burnham Triathlon and the early season duathlons. He dropped me at 4 miles but I caught and passed him at 10 miles (Martin came in 1hr 19'53"). With much suffering I managed 1 hr 18'48" for 60th place and 10th Vet 40 on the official clock but 3 seconds quicker by the micro-chip but a place lower. Hmmm. Do I really want to do a marathon? With brother Andy proving to have the superior stupidity for the weekend, Mark Brooks raced closer to home in the Bristol Half. He did give me a wave as he came in to finish but probably had no idea who he was waving to!! Mark did 1 hr 41'21" to finish in 922nd or given his chip time he would be 981st in 1 hour 40'47". For results click here Making her debut in a half marathon was Nicky Salmon who ran with Hubby Stuart for a debut time of 2.08'17" even managing a last mile in 8 minutes. Twelve more of those and you could do 1 hr 45!!! Scary? Well done Nicky and you may even think about doing another one, and even joining the Hogweeds....
